Can't beat the price for a 2+ hour whale watching trip. I liked how when they filled up one boat, people just got on the next boat. Luckily we were near the first people on boat # 2 for a 9:00 am trip. We got a great seat. The captain announced when a whale, or dolphin was in the area. We saw whales three or 4 times, but it was most likely the same whale. I liked that the captain turned the boat back when it appeared the whale was trying to get on with his migration, taking short trips to the surface and then diving out of sight. I'd do this again, earlier when there are more whales, but thought it was well worth the $35 cost.
Had a great experience on the whale watching tour July 4th weekend. We saw seals, pods of dolphins playing in the wake, 2 whales and patches the dolphin. Great for all ages! I would recommend getting there 1/2 hour early to get a good seat. Front of the boat was perfect.
Bundle up with hat, gloves and warm jacket for this cruise in the winter time because it gets very chilly on the water. Having said that, the whales stayed with us for a good while and we had a chance to see two of them come up for air a dozen or more times. The Aquarium employee who narrated the tour gave us lots of information on the gray whales who stayed close to our boat and we really learned a lot about them. In addition to whales we saw sea lions, cormorants, pelicans and sea gulls of course. This would be a great tour for kids and the two who sat near us were excited by everything we saw.
We had a great day whale watching. The boat is set up well so that everyone has a good view. It was informative and also exciting when the whales were spotted. We saw Dolphins, 4 x blue whales and 1x Minke whale. Our tip would be to check the website as there are often 2 for 1 or some sort of discount. Also - sit in the tiered seats up front as this is the best place for a really good view.
Great experience, whether or not you see any whales; the crew is friendly and knowledge
Really enjoyed the early 4th of July fireworks (3rd of July). They had light snacks like cookies, chips, water, soda and some alcohol. Staff was friendly. They have restrooms on board. Bring a sweater and maybe a blanket it did get a bit chilly. They validate parking, we still paid $8. The boat was not super crowded, i love that. Will definitely make this a yearly tradition.
- Snacks were offered on the boat along with beer which is cool. - Was able to see plenty of dolphins during our ride. Got some great pictures. Also was fortunate enough to see a blue whale. Amazing! - I enjoyed how they had a few employees from Aquarium of the Pacific to tell you some facts about the animals as we were moving along. - I also enjoyed learning about the Long Beach landmarks as we cruised along.
Daughter and I spent a leisurely afternoon on this tour. A nice large boat with plenty of seating cruises out of Long Beach harbor and out into the ocean looking to view sightings of whales, dolphins and other marine life. While we saw no whales we did sight a small school of dolphins and enjoyed their antics chasing the boat and jumping out of the water. Also saw some seals and seal lions frolicking. The tour lasted 2.5 hours and was very enjoyable. The are snacks for purchase on board as well as beverages. You need a good hat, sunglasses & sunscreen. A jacket is good too as it was fairly cool pm the water and out in the wind. An Aquarium employee helped in sighting the creatures and providing plenty of info along the way. It was also interesting to see all the cargo ships in port and nearby on the sea. Great way to spend the afternoon, many shops, restaurants, and other adventures and the Aquarium are nearby back on shore
We used Seiri to get to the beach. Unfortunately, it took us to the marina & NOT to the dock where the Harbor Cruise was. We phoned to get directions as we were late... The person who answered told us to look for the lighthouse... It was obscured by another property, so wasted a lot of time trying to find it & made everyone on the boat wait for us... Yes, they did wait, so were very pleased. As others have said, bundle up, as many were cold, especially young children & they wined to go inside frequently. We did have a few sightings of whales, but one was ruined with another tour company that was "overenthusiastic" & went too close... There is red wine, beer, and soda for sale. If you wait until later in the cruise, the hot dogs are $1.00!! Bring you binoculars so you can see better! We had many sightings of dolphins & sea lions. They liked to play around the boat. The boat is comfortable with indoor and outdoor seating and tables to eat at. There is a narrator who is from the Aquariums
This is a great tour. The crew is so professional, friendly and patient with you. they do their best so you can see the most whales and dolphins possible. They will answer all the questions you have too. They are very knowledgeable about what they do which is a plus. can' wait to bring my friends on this tour!!

We had a great day on the sea; our first impressions were as follows 1) expensive, 2) "darn it, we didn't get to sit outside..." as the trip went on we discovered that it was good to be inside, as the sea was quite rough, so the people on deck got soaked, and it was quite cold due to the wind. We saw (what I think maybe were) a couple of humpback whales, and a pod of dolphins joined by a raft of sealions, who swam along with the boat! But don't go if you get sick easily, because the sea might be rough, and if you can handle that; OK, but you might nor handle all the people getting sick around you! If this is still not a problem.. definitely worth it!

We spent the afternoon on the Harbor Breeze Whale watching excursion and had a great time! They had knowledgeable guides from the long beach aquarium that made the trip a great learning experience about the marine life in Southern California. We didn't see any whales on our trip but we did see many different types of dolphins and sea lions. It was great fun for the whole family!

I went to California hoping to see grey whales & I wasn't disappointed!! There were 3 of them coming right along the boat! Got some wonderful pictures & I have to say that this was the least expensive, most fun thing I did while I was there!!! I will be back to go with them again! The captain was very knowledgeable & the photographer they had on the boat was great for those of us who couldn't get a good picture!!!

Me and my family decided to go on a tour around Long Beach. As we walked around, we saw this place. The price for going into the boat was cheap and reasonable. As we left the port, we saw many historical figures. There was an announcer saying interesting facts during the tour as well. I would recommend coming to this place.

My friend and I took the whale watching cruise over this past weekend and enjoyed it very much. We're hoping to go again and get a better viewing area/seats!

The 45 minute harbor cruise was very relaxing. My family sat on the back of the boat while everyone else went to the top. It was awesome seeing the sea lions on the buoy while listening to the captain giving us information on the animal and the wonderful sites around us. This cruise was $12 for adults but free for kids under 3 years old. I highly recommend this for all ages.

We really enjoyed our afternoon of whale watching. During the 2.5 hour cruise, we saw 5 grey whales and 3 different species of Dolphins. It's amazing how close we were able to get. I was a little concerned I might get a little sea sick. But the boat was very stable and I had no problems whatsoever. You can buy tickets online to secure your spot on the boat. I would recommend allowing a little extra time to get there. On a busy day, the parking lot takes a while to find a parking spot. If you aren't sure exactly how to get there, just follow the signs for the Aquarium of the Pacific; they share the same parking garage. Speaking of parking, don't forget to get your ticket validated. Even with the validation, you'll have to pay $8.

Wow! Just wow! One of the best thing we did on our SoCal vacation and yes, we did the whole Disney Park thing. I was doubtful before our adventure but by the end of the tour, we saw six whales, a pod of about 50 dolphins, and many other sea life including a 1500 lb sea lion sunbathing. Besides the wonderful experience, we also have so many incredible pictures and videos of the whales and dolphins to remember this trip by.

Took the 2.5 hour cruise today and although we didn't see any whales, we seen quite a few dolphins which was cool to see them in their natural habitat rather than in a tank at the likes of Seaworld! Overall, we enjoyed our trip. Must give a mention to Maria for replying to my email questions before our trip over from Scotland, very helpful indeed, thanks

I thought this was a great experience. I was visiting the area and found a sale for tickets on Groupon, so bought them. My friend and I went and we weren't disappointed. I felt the crew was very knowledgeable and genuinely interested in the whale-watching as well. They offer two tours a day, one at noon and the other at 3pm. We took the 3 pm tour and they were able to back track their steps from the earlier tour to locate the Blue Whale seen on the earlier tour. It does get breezy, so be sure to bring a sweater or light jacket. They offer beverages and snack on board in the inside cabin. Make sure you get in line early to get a good seat on the boat, as prime space do fill up fast.
