General Info
Dr. Kimberly Nicholson is originally from central Florida, where she completed her undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Natural Sciences and graduated summa cum laude at the University of South Florida in 2003. She then moved to Atlanta where she received her medical doctorate from Emory University School of Medicine in 2007. Following her medical training, she completed an internship in Internal Medicine as well as a residency in Dermatology at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL, where she also served as chief resident. She pursued additional subspecialty training in dermatopathology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center before settling in Sandy Springs, GA. Prior to joining Atlanta North Dermatology, Dr. Nicholson practiced dermatopathology for three years in the Atlanta area. Dr. Nicholson is on staff at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta and is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology in both dermatology and dermatopathology. During both her training and practice, Dr. Nicholson has been actively involved in multiple professional organizations as well as the Atlanta dermatology community. She is the author of several publications and has lectured both locally and nationally on various topics, including cutting edge techniques for the diagnosis of melanoma. She specializes in general dermatology and dermatologic surgery, and has a particular interest in medical dermatology and melanoma. In addition to her professional career, she enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, and is an avid sports enthusiast.

Dr. Nicholson listened to me about my skin problems and made me feel very comfortable as she did a whole body check. I was concerned about some areas which she checked thoroughly and assured me there was not a problem. She informed me as to what to watch for and advised to me to always wear a hat when I worked in the garden.
I can't say enough about Dr. Nicholson, her nurses and the front office staff. I've been a patient since 2015, and have never had a bad experience. IT's not always been fun and games health-wise, yet the care and professionalism of these people make each experience bearable. Dr. Nicholson has also treated both my sons, with the same great experience. I highly recommend Dr. Nicholson.

Both the assistant and the physician were very patient, not at all rushed. They were very kind and protective of my modesty. They answered all issues and checked me out completely, and I feel pretty good about this visit. This experience contrasts to a visit I had in the past at another practice, which was significantly busier and everything was rushed.

They're always friendly!! From checking to checkout! The nursing staff is on point and my doctor is the best. They take the time to listen to me and make sure to take care of my needs. I also love the fact that they stay true to the schedule. I've never had to wait longer than my appointment time. So blessed to have to have them as part of my medical family.
Dr. Nicholson is the best! She is thorough, gentle and always makes you feel comfortable. I don't have to dread my dermatologist visits any longer!
The office staff is so nice. They take care of you very well. I go every 6 months so I do notice how wonderful they are.

I wanted to take the time to share my experience with Dr. Nicholson and her MA, Kelly. They are both very easy to talk to and make me feel comfortable sharing my concerns and questions. Kelly is very friendly and shares common interests with me regarding "natural remedies". Dr. Nicholson has always been great in treating my problems and has a wonderful personality too. It's not only the expertise but also the great personalities of both of these ladies that keeps me coming back! Overall they are the best!!
