Dr. Mahmood graduated from Millburn High School amongst the top in his class and then completed his undergraduate education at Johns Hopkins University where he graduated magna cum laude. While in college he was actively involved in community service, public health outreach, and orthopaedic research. Much of his research efforts were devoted to studying innovations in bone healing with the Johns Hopkins Medical School Department of Orthopaedics. Upon graduating he returned to New Jersey to complete his medical training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he actively participated in community outreach programs and continued his commitment to orthopaedic research at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. His research efforts focused on understanding the wear patterns and increasing the longevity of total joint arthroplasties (replacements). Dr. Mahmood specializes in the treatment of a myriad of Spine & Orthopaedic conditions, including disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, degenerative spinal conditions, spinal tumors, spinal trauma, and revision spinal surgery. He also specializes in treating hip and knee arthritis, sports related injuries including shoulder, hip, and knee ailments, and orthopaedic trauma.

I have been going to Dr. Faisal Mahmood for the past 2 years and I think he is by far the best ortho doctor I've seen over the years. I highly recommend Dr. Mahmood!
Dr. Mahmood and PA Sarah are amazing and thorough. Had surgery for shoulder and have been seeing them for a very bad back. Feel great, because of them!!! Office staff is wonderful too!

I was referred to Doctor Mahmood and I came to the office on Jan.23 for sever lower back pain. I was greeted with the office staff who was amazing and understanding considering that I was in pain and very easily aggravated. Ms. MO Santos, arranged for me to be seen on that same day although the day was full of appointments. Having an injury is very confusing and Sara Dowling along with Doctor Mahmood took the time and explained to me my injury. This was the best experience and I highly recommed

When i first met Dr.Mahmood i was in tremendous pain. I had a total Hip replacement in august by him and i cant begin to express my gratitude. Today i am on my road to recovery and feeling better then i could ever imagine. Dr.Mahmood bedside manners where beyond amazing took his time with me made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions and concerns.His staff is beyond courteous treated me as family anyone looking for an accurate diagnosis and pain relief i truly recommend
