I have worked in a few daycare centers throughout the years and have never come across such a wonderful program. The staff is extremely caring not only in your children but also in your family as a whole. We strive to provide a family setting when you have to be away from your child and treat each child as if they were our own. Healthy meals are provided daily by the on site cook. and the center always smells delicious. The owner Debbie, is a wonderful person and boss. She provides a wonderful relaxing program and curriculum for the staff so we can focus on your children. This is a wonderful place to be especially if you are looking for a home away from home environment.
I am previous employee and I feel as a parent that I should share my review. As far as care for your child go (this is the reason I give it a 2 star vs 1 star) when the center maintains teachers it is a great Daycare. As far as preschool goes I question. The chil dren don't do much learning as the center maxes out their ratios making it nearly impossible to have a teaching setting. Cleanliness could be better, though to the first glance you think it's clean but upon further inspection there were times that the floor was sticky and had food left over from days before. There were times we were told to just spray Lysol on the rug where a child had thrown up vs actually paying someone (or renting a rug doctor) to clean it properly. The only items that are available on the "playground" is a very large sandbox(kids will come home with stained clothes), a bike track, water tables(that mainly just collect sand and mulch), and easily broken toys bought at Ollies or Dollar General. There is no jungle gym or slides.Lastly, but most impotantly, the teachers/staff. Daycares have a high turn around rate as it is but New Heights have an extremely high turn around. The owner is rude to her employees, she will talk down to them as if they are uneducated and beneath her. I have personally witnessed her and her (then) director talking poorly about parents and other staff while sitting in the main office (which is open to the main hall). They push ratios and there were many times I was left in a room over ratio. Working with them was a constant fear that you would be fired at any small thing- you shouldn't have to fear you'll be let go everyday when going to work. They have openly discussed why teachers were let go (which they aren't suppose to do; on top of lying to benefit the outlook for themselves) I wish I were the only one to feel this way, but the fact of the matter is: I'm not. I've spoken with multiple other employees and they have all shared the same concerns. And sadly parents are only hearing from the owner talking poorly about the teachers who have quit or been let go. An employee here or there is one thing but New Heights goes through employees like no other. We as teachers grow to love these children and they the same for us, as we spend hours with them each day playing with and loving them. When your child gets attached with teachers and you have a revolving door for your staff it costs the child most.
My child loves it here. The place is clean and all the children are happy. This place has been COMPLETELY transformed from what it was and I'm thankful for it. The kids arent just sitting around watching movies all day, they are learning! The time and effort the new owners are putting into this day care is wonderful. Yeah there may be a teacher turn over but ask yourself why?? Don't you think, just maybe Debbie only wants the best if the best teaching and caring for your child?? If you were running a business would you accept sub par performance?? And I'm sorry but I welcome teachers that are not going to coddle my child. What you see as being rude to children is them not babying them because when they get into school they won't be. I have never seen any children mistreated or even heard of. These people came in and saved a sinking ship, they turned the whole operation around and made it educational and fun for these kids. If you don't like how they run things pull your child and go else where. Go pay these astronomical prices at one of these corporate day cares and pray nothing happens to them because unlike a corporate run day care who's main focus is the almighty dollar, New Heights is focused on providing excelent care and learning for these kids.
I feel that Debbie & Jerry, the new owners have brought a lot of new ideas & educational background to the daycare. We're still in the infant room so I can only really speak to my experience with his teachers but they are great. They are loving & encouraging. They sit & play on the floor with the kids. They do crafts. As for the place not being clean, I have not seen this. On days that I've picked up my son later in the day they've been cleaning the rooms (like mopping & vacuuming) I have also seen them clean the changing table after they changed my son. We did tour other chain daycares, but my husband & I when we picked out this daycare liked the feeling that we got there. The kids were happy & the people made it seem like a home, not a big institutional place. When you have changes in management there are always going to be growing pains & unhappy people, but I think they're doing wonderful. I would recommend this daycare. 2 of my co-workers referred us to the daycare when we looking
I work for New Heights academy, I have been with the company for close to 3 months. I have seen them work with employees over and over again with issues in his/her personal life, when another company will tell you to do it on your own time, they NHA bent over backwards to help employees. I work with the preschool class and have never had any complaints from my parents and I welcome you to tell me if you have a problem. I am a firm believer that if you write a review and say negative things you need to own up to it so please. As a matter of fact I know that no one has quit or walked out of the job. They have been asked to leave. This company strives to make your child number one, and confident that they will be ready when they start school . They are not just a Daycare they are family....

I would not recommend this place to any parent wanting a soothing environment for their children. From talking to other parents it has been brought to my attention that teachers have been rough with the children, not physically, but with punishments and handling behavior. The last thing I want is to have my children tell me that they were yelled at for something that could have very easily been handled with by simply talking to the child or telling them to sit out. I also think that a majority of the staff is unprofessional and needs to be retrained. Also they have had an issue with staffing; there used to be a teacher that I adored, but sadly she was let go,staffing may not seem to be a big deal, but when you are talking about your child and trying to keep a steady environment around them it starts to be a bit of a problem, especially when your child has a problem adjusting.Don't be fooled by the beautiful building and the "polite" staff during the interview it has room for improvements

I worked here and it is a joke!!!! Children are not being cared for properly at all! They fire teachers that they should keep and not fire teachers that they need to be fired. I have witnessed many times when teachers and the owner herself are rude to children that just need a hug or extra time with them because they are new to child care. I quit because I refuse to be in a lovely place for their child go to be be fussed at for crying..... or made fun of. They do have loving teachers in the infant room but not so much at all in the other rooms. I would never ever recommend this place for children!!!!! The children here get adjusted to a teacher and then next thing you know that teacher has quit or been fired..... they wonder why the children act up, hard to get used to a teacher and feel comfortable when the next day they may be gone.

I guess I would have to say that it overall is not a bad place, but it could be better. I enjoy the pleasant atmosphere throughout the building, and with the staff. But I believe that the building could be cleaner and teachers may need to re-evaluate the spread of germs because I have witnessed (on multiple occasions) where my child would be getting changed right before pick up and his teacher would not clean the changing table, and then put another child on the table right after! So it worries me that they do not clean the tables often. I also must note that you MUST label your items because they have lost many of my son's articles of clothing especially with it being winter. Overall the issues that you might experience with this establishment are not going to be life-threatening, but I believe that they have a long line of improvement ahead of them.
