I'm really surprised by the earlier review, because I always refer my friends to this shop, upstairs in the Santa Rosa Plaza, just because the guy there seems so nice. I've only actually bought one watch from, but we've gone by for other minor services and he's always been super accommodating and polite. He's done a couple repairs for us (like crystal replacement, battery replacement, watchbands, etc.) and usually does it while we wait and chat. I just went in yesterday and asked him to remove a few links from the band of a new watch my husband just got for me -- he didn't even buy it from Bayside, but the fellow was happy to adjust the band for me -- at no charge! I can only imagine that the earlier reviewer was a little cranky when he went in, because he was sick, and perhaps came off to the owner as aggressive or rude -- and the owner lost his cool.

I called the store before I took the watch in for the third time and the owner said he understood my concern so I took it to him on 9/8/06. He said he hadn't understood me when I took it to him. His tone was rude and he ended up throwing the watch at me and telling me that he would see me in the parking garage. I had no patience with his attitude, I will admit. I have been sick and felt quite unwell that day. In fact I was in town that day to see a doctor. I wish I had sent the watch to manufacturer, but I didn't think putting a new crystal in would be a problem.
