NEKCA, also known as The Northeast Kingdom Community Action agency, is a nonprofit organization. It serves more than 6,000 low-income youths and families in Orleans and Northern Essex counties in Vermont. The organization offers a range of foster care, transition, life skills assessment, guidance and advocacy services. The Northeast Kingdom Community Action agency administers the Runaway Program, which serves youths between the ages of 12 and 18. It provides crisis management and individual and family counseling solutions. The agency maintains a teen center and offers a juvenile restorative program. The Northeast Kingdom Community Action agency also operates an outreach department and administers the Micro Business Development program.
