This relationship will promote the client’s capacity to discover and use his/her inner resources to change. Therapy can be scary and provoke a lot anxiety. I try to experience my clients’ world with empathy through our relationship to gain understanding of their issues. I believe that each individual is different and each person carries his/her own set of experiences, struggles, and fears. Because of this, they are unique, and they need to be treated according to their individuality. While each person is ultimately responsible for their own journey, we will work as a team to find the best fit for treatment according to his/her needs. Together we will work towards opportunities to find their balance in life. I received my Master of Arts in Human Development Counseling from the University of Illinois in Springfield. I also graduated with my bachelors in Psychology in Brazil where I previously worked as a therapist. I am a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am also recognized by and part of Chi Sigma Iota International (an international honor society that values academic and professional excellence in counseling). Besides English, I speak Portuguese and I understand Spanish. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and with my friends.
