As I graduate from high school I look back at the wonderful memories and the great start I had in my first school, Good Beginnings School. Whether we were reading, coloring, conducting "science experiments", or doing other unique and creative activities, my preschool and kindergarten years were full of fun!I cannot thank the entire Good Beginnings Staff enough for giving my learning and education such a positive start. Without such a wonderful foundation and the loving group of staff who constantly motivated me, I could not have gotten to where I am today. I am a college student at Christopher Newport University. As I've looked back on how I was able to obtain that status I could not help but to reminisce on my experiences and the staff at Good Beginnings. This is a school full of programs that I believe both enrich and expand the young minds of tomorrow. As a child I remember the patience, kindness, and understanding nature of such teachers as Ms. Beech. This school is also equipped with its own swimming pool and picnic area. I particularly enjoyed the summer programs that were offered. If it wasn't for this school I don't believe I would be as strong a swimmer as I am today. If you are wondering whether to bring your child to Good Beginnings, just know that by doing so you will be giving them an education and experience that will stick with them for a life time.

We love this school. We are very happy with the curriculum and activities at Good Beginnings our son loves it here. The teachers and staff are very caring and work hard to provide a positive environment for the children. We feel really good about how hes progressing academically, and he just loves all the activities! I absolutely recommend it here!

This school changes their policies whenever it favors them. A child in my son's class has bitten other children multiple times. The policy is three incidents and the child is asked to leave. The administration did a great job of covering up an incident or two in fear of losing enrollment. This school is not at all concerned about children's safety. Please consider making a better choice!!

If you are looking for a positive, warm, and nurturing kindergarten classroom I would suggest you look elsewhere. This kindergarten looks great on outside and even on the facebook. Once kids are there you will realize your mistake. My son was labeled as a behavior problem. The children are expected to be perfect and follow unreasonable expectations like in army training. I wish my son had not left his old school and come to GBS.

Parents beware!! Although I am pleased with most of the teaching staff, I am disappointed at the way the administration handles issues of confidentiality and professionalism. They demonstrate that people skills are lacking and pressure tactics run high.

We have entrusted our 3 children to Good Beginnings School for the past 5 years. We highly recommend this school. When we were looking for a full day preschool for our then 3 year old, our neighbor, a public school teacher, recommended Good Beginnings. Her 2 children had excelled at the school. With that recommendation in hand, I took a tour and instantly felt comfortable. I had toured approximately 8 other preschools and daycares in the area and none could compare. The school has 2 great, safe, fenced playgrounds, a huge recreation room for rainy days, and a heated in ground pool for the summers. They offer Karate, piano, general music, ballet, hip hop, and soccer lessons. This preserves after school and weekend time for families. In the summer, they offer swim lessons taught by either of the 2 lifeguards. They take children as soon as they are potty trained and ready to separate from the parents. I can't say enough about the teachers. They love the kids and it shows.

We have been enormously happy with Good Beginnings. Its a great school small class sizes, highly professional teachers and staff, a very well-developed academic program, beautiful playground, a heated in-ground pool available in the summer and lots of extras in terms of additional programming available. Weve been very, very pleased with Good Beginnings. Our son has spent this year in the junior kindergarten with Ms. Napier and Ms. Shazia and weve seen a dramatic transformation. He began with no academic skills and no interest in learning them and has basically mastered all the kindergarten skills in this year. His teachers have done a wonderful job teaching him his numbers, and letters, counting, sight words, etc. but even more importantly, they have gotten him excited to learn these things.
