Murdock Middle School is a coeducational public school that enrolls students in grades six through eight. It provides several elective courses, such as music, art, physical education, chorus, technology education, law studies, foreign languages and career exploration. Additionally, the school offers a writing enhancement program to improve written communication skills of students in grades seven and eight. It offers exceptional student education and intensive reading programs. The school s interscholastic program offers a variety of athletic events, including basketball, soccer, softball, volleyball, and track and field. It also offers a remediation program for students in need of academic assistance. The school additionally offers guidance counseling and conducts health screenings. It is a part of Charlotte County Public Schools, which serves over 17,000 students in prekindergarten through grade 12. Murdock Middle School is located in Port Charlotte, Fla.
