Open year-round, the Grasshopper Inn in breathtaking Southwest Montana (Beaverhead County) is adjacent to the Beaverhead-Deer Lodge National Forest and is also located near the Big Hole National Battlefield (40 miles), Bannack State Park, Elkhorn hot springs, and Maverick Mountain Ski Slope. The Grasshopper Inn is on the Lewis & Clark Trail and is part of the Big Hole Cowboy Heritage Site. Located two hours from West Yellowstone, the Grasshopper Inn provides a friendly family atmosphere with excellent food and lodging in a beautiful scenic area. If you ride your horse to the Inn, your first drink is free! Activities include Skiing (Snowskiing), Snowmobiling, Hiking, Mountain Climbing, Backpacking, Horseback Riding, Fishing (Trout fishing on the Big Hole River, Wise River, or Beaverhead River, with access to the Madison River, plus innumerable small streams for fishing or hunting), Hunting (Elk, Mule Deer, Antelope, Bear, Mountain Lion, Mountain Sheep), Bicycling, Motorcycling, ATV Riding, Crystal digging, Birdwatching, River floating and kayaking. Some activities are seasonal, but many are not. We invite you see and experience the beauty of the Grasshopper Inn and Events include The Hill Climb (Car Race), Bannack Days (a weeklong festival at the old State Park), Dillon Rodeo (Competition and Expedition events held on Labor Day weekend), and cattle drives. The Grasshopper Inn offers event planning and organization, as well as catering for your events, including for weddings and conferences and business meeting. Although our onsite capacity is limited for most events to 40 persons, the Grasshopper Inn also offers offsite liquor and traditional catering offsite.
