This man diagnosed me with Lupus, told me that there was no cure, and the only treatment was to take aspirin (up to 24 a day!), and have his office make these terrible braces for my arms and legs. He may as well have read a death sentence to me, as a 19 year old female. I took his aspirin, and wore his horrible braces until I was seen by a doctor at Mass General, who was shocked that the only treatment given was aspirin. He assured me that there were treatments for Lupus other than aspirin, and informed me that I had a very mild case of Lupus, as it was. (That was news to me, as Dr Heller had instead informed me that Lupus was sometimes fatal, and that I'd be deformed unless I bought his arm and leg braces. Under the care of the Mass General physician, I was in remission within months, and have remained in remission for years. By the way, those arm and leg braces went into the trash, where they belong, along with my opinion of Dr. Heller.
