Established in 1989, Frontier Trail Junior High School has an annual enrollment of more than 800 students in grades seven through nine. The school supports a student council and pep, drama, Letterman's, chess and ecology clubs. It organizes a variety of athletic activities that include football, soccer, volleyball, cross country, track and field, tennis, basketball and wrestling. The school provides academic instruction in language arts, math, science, social studies, industrial technology, art, music, world languages, reading and computer technology. It has a team of guidance counselors who address academic, personal, social and career development needs of students. Frontier Trail Junior High School is a part of Olathe School District USD 233 that provides educational services at various additional sites, including Claire Alternative Education Center, Harmony Early Childhood Center, Heartland Early Childhood Center and Prairie Learning Center. It is located in Olathe, Kan.
