We met Marvin of Southern State Electric at a Home and Garden show in Roanoke. We were considering installing a standby home generator and his company had one on display there. Marvin was helpful, courteous, and knowledgable, not only then, but throughout all the subsequent steps of our eventually choosing one, ordering it, and having it installed. Marvin and Jay did the installation very efficiently, and with little inconvenience to us. They were attentive to our thoughts and questions, and to our comfort, even putting liners on their shoes when they came into the house. What we love about Southern State is that they are nearby, very eager to satisfy their customers, and very knowledgable in their trade. The company has a Family Plan for home maintenance that offers many advantages including whole house inspections annually (plumbing and electrical) and priority service. We are very grateful, impressed, and satisfied customers.

Brad listened to my diagnosis of the issue and then proceeded to explain AND show me, very professionally, what the real issue was! His work was quick and thorough. This was a pleasant plumbing experience.
The first date of service was 12-23-2013 and Southern State Electric and Plumbing are professional and prompt service. Our Service Sprecialist Daniel was a wonderful and informative representative and explained before he continued with repairs also advising the cost before the repair was done. We found him to be a wonderful service specialist.

Electrical repair request was completed timely and very professionally.Took a few minutes to do a quality inspection of the repaired (older) outdoor lighting fixture and determined many more years of service remained. Saved me extra costs thinking I would need to buy a new fixture. The technician was courteous and explained the cause and the repair completed. I was very pleased with the service and will certainly call on Southern State Electric again.
I contacted this company by email and they called and set up a time for a service person to come out right away. They sent me a picture of the technician with a confirmation of my appointment, which I really appreciated. They gave me a two hour window for the technician to arrive and he even called before he came to my home. My technicians name was Marvin and he was very professional and courteous. He took his time addressing everyone of my concerns. He was very competent and fixed and/or scheduled to fix every one of my electrical issues. I would definitely recommend this company for your electrical needs.

Professionalism, friendly and very knowledgeable ...the old expression you get what you pay for really applies with the safety of electricity in your home. Our 1960's style kitchen had hidden electrical problems and panels needed to be replaced...bottom line Brian installed 14 pot lights and 15 under cabinet lights and re worked the panels and upgrades...I am thrilled of the transformation with my 2013 SHOWCASE kitchen ! I signed up for the yearly service checks and service fee is waived with this service. Dont get me wrong there was sticker shock but then again do you want cheap or do you want the best ? I opted for the best and feel lucky Brain was assigned to service our house, he was FANTASTIC and deserves a raise after all the hard work he encountered at our 1960's house. I will certainly recommend Southern State Electric and Plumbing to anyone . PS The receptionist is always pleasant on the phone !

Michael Cantrell was very professional and polite. He answered all my questions and explained several options that I may consider in the future. He completed his work,and checked everything out with me. I really appreciate the work he did, and the way he did it.

My electrician, Marvin, electrified my kitchen island and did a home inspection of my outlets and electrical box. He also went over some safety issues for my house and we discussed adding a home generator for my house. He did an excellent job and I would recommend him and his company for any electrical or plumbing needs.

My plumber Joey did a great job. He was on time and explained everything to me. He came to install a hot water heater and found a second problem with my sump pump. He came back twice in one day to fix both of my problems. I would highly recommend him and this company.

Our plumbing specialist from Southern State Electric and Plumbing was outstanding! He was punctual, knowledgeable, efficient, and even worked past normal work hours to get our job done.
