J. B. Watkins Elementary School is an educational campus that enrolls children in kindergarten through grade five. It employs a staff of more than 90 teachers and paraprofessionals, including special education instructors, guidance counselors, psychologists, speech therapists and reading specialists. The school offers classes in various subjects, such as math, science, social studies and English. It conducts basic learning sessions in foreign languages, physical education, music, and arts and crafts. J. B. Watkins Elementary School also has a parent-teacher association that supports various campus events and activities. In addition, it has a library that stocks books on science, history, fiction and humor. The school is a part of Chesterfield County Public Schools, which operates Bailey Bridge Middle School, Salem Church Middle School, James River High School and Center for the Arts.
