Ashima Kumar Gupta, MD Dr. Gupta is a board-certified Ophthalmologist, specializing in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus. Dr. Gupta already has an extensive resume with teaching positions and leadership roles that include serving as Director of the Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Service from 2006-2013 at the State University of New York at Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the George Washington University in Washington, DC and her fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. Dr. Gupta is known for her compassionate patient care and his received several awards regarding her expertise. Giving back is important to Dr. Gupta. She has volunteered her time and shared her expertise on many international medical missions as well as locally with the Downtown Lion's Club. In addition, she serves on the board at the Visually Impaired Preschool Services to assist in providing the best services to these children. She also represents the Kentucky Medical Association on the Council for Medicaid Services appointment by the Governor.

came from a er that dismissed me completely. coming here was so different they took care of me from start to finish without me having to ask them for a thing. very kind and caring and explained everything ti me clearly.

We visited Dr. Gupta for our 2 year olds first exam due to a blocked duct. She was very comforting and answered all of our questions. Didn't rush and didn't get frustrated with our toddlers antics. Would absolutely recommend for any worried first time mom.
