Established in 1949, the Lee's Summit R-7 School District is headquartered in Lee's Summit, Mo. The school district provides general academic programs to more than 16,000 students in kindergarten through grade 12. Its schools conduct classes in math, science, social studies, language arts, technology and business. Its schools provide special education services to gifted and talented students. The Lee's Summit R-7 School District s schools feature a band, choir and orchestra. The school district supports a variety of sports activities, such as basketball, golf, tennis, soccer, softball, volleyball and cross country. Its schools operate book, prevention, chess, robotics and environmental clubs. In addition, its schools extracurricular activities include art, dance, drama and physical education. The school district also offers occupational, physical, speech and language therapies to students with learning disabilities. The Lee's Summit R-7 School District is accredited by the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges.
