J. Derek Tieken, DDS has earned lots of accolades and honors in his 28 years as a dentist and before that, while earning his degree from the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston. President of his fourth-year class, Dr. Tieken delivered the commencement address. His dental practice, Tieken Smiles Dentistry, has been recognized as Best Dentist by Bay Area Houston Magazine for 16 years in a row. He earned a spot on H-Texas Magazines Top Dentists list from 2010 to 2017. In 2014, Tieken Smiles Dentistry was selected as Practice of the Year by Next Level, a dental consulting and training organization. In 2018, Dr. J. Derek Tieken became a bestselling author with his book, "The Million Dollar Smile: Changing Lives with Cosmetic Dentistry." The book was well received and has climbed to the top of Amazon's bestsellers list a few weeks after its launch. Dr. Tieken stays up-to-date on the latest dental trends by taking courses at The Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and most recently, The International Academy of Sleep. Dr. Tieken is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is also a longtime participant in the Give Back a Smile program, which provides restorative dentistry services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Dr. Tieken loves his local community. He established his dental practice just 10 miles away from where he grew up. He participates in many community service projects such as providing dental screenings to area school children. Dr. Tieken was named a Texas Super Dentist in 2017 by Texas Monthly. He is the Official Dentist for the Miss Kemah and Miss Kemah Teen USA Pageant.

I came in for a regular check up with tracy and wanted to discuss my bite of my teeth because it had changed recently and i was told that my jaw had grown and was given the best treatment options possible. I also had a retainer made and the scan was done on the spot.

i had a gap between my front teeth and wanted veneers. He did a fantastic job. He lasered my gums and put the veneers in and the result was a beautiful smile.
