Mid America Car Inc.-Locomotive performs a variety of freight car, passenger car and locomotive repairs for Class 1 and short line railroads. Its customers include Burlington Northern Santa Fe, Kansas City Southern, Union Pacific, Rail America, Arkansas Railroad and Missouri Railroad. In addition, the company serves many leasing companies, such as General Motors Corporation, G.E. Capital, and Greenbrier Leasing, and private car owners, including Southwestern Electric Power, Kansas City Power & Light, and ACF Shippers Car Line. Mid America also supplies replacement parts and operates a full-service fabrication and paint shop. Mid-America Car was founded in 1978 and is based in Kansas City, Mo.
