Heyburn Elementary School serves more than 440 students in kindergarten through grade five. The school offers several academic subjects, such as math, social studies, reading, art, science, physical education and music. It also offers Title I, English as a Second Language and special education programs. The school s accelerated reader program is a computer-based reading tool that enhances reading comprehension skills of students. It also offers a character education program, CHARACTER COUNTS!, which imparts values of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness and citizenship to students. The school s library and media center has a collection of various reading and reference materials. In addition, it houses one of Idaho's largest private collections of oil paintings. Heyburn Elementary School is administered by Minidoka County Joint School District 331 and is located in Heyburn, Idaho.
