Dr. Tayyaba Ahmed is a doctor of physical medicine and rehabilitation who was born and raised in New York. She completed the BS/DO program at New York Institute of Technology and was trained at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Northwell Health Plainview Hospital and the NYU Langone Medical Center/RUSK Institute for Rehabilitation. A board certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician, Dr. Ahmed is also a fellow of the Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a member of the International Pelvic Pain Society. Dr. Ahmed is a contributing author to a textbook which is considered a staple during every Physiatrist’s training. The fourth edition is currently in press and scheduled to publish in the spring of 2019. This full title reference is: Ahmed T, Chan I: “Pelvic Pain”, Essentials of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, 4th edition by Frontera W, Silver J, Rizzo T; Elsevier, Philadelphia, In Press. After spending the last five years honing her skills in outpatient care, Dr. Ahmed is ready to focus on her passion for treating pelvic pain. Dr. Ahmed has chosen a focused practice, because she believes concentrating on a specific field creates the greatest expertise. Chasing that greatness has been her consistent driving force.

It's clear that Dr. Ahmed very much cares about helping me find relief from my complex pain symptoms, and has also been helpful referring me to other physicians who can help get to the root of the issue(s). She goes the extra mile to alleviate concerns and initiates collaboration with other physicians, alleviating some pressure in an otherwise overwhelming labyrinth of testing and interventions.

I felt listened to and Dr. Ahmed was proactive in helping me find solutions for my pain from endometriosis. After 10+ years of pelvic pain I finally feel confident that my pain can improve and endometriosis is no longer a "life sentence" of pain!

Dr. Ahmed is extremely professional and easy to talk to. Her diagnosis of my problem was accurate and her treatments offered me much relief. in addition she suspected that I might also have a hernia so she sent me for an MRI. Initial interpretation was that I did not have one, but she did not feel the MRI report was accurate so she she my MRI to a hernia specialist who saw that I actually had two hernias. Her entire staff are equally professional and easy to deal with.

Dr Ahmed listened to my complain and the history of my illness and gave me the correct diagnosis . After two visits I felt great . My pain was gone . I saw rapid improvement in my symptoms . I have never felt this good in 27 years.
