South Elementary School offers educational classes in listening and speaking, writing applications, physical education, society and culture, science, math and art. It has an academic enrollment of more than 600 students in grades four through six. The school offers a variety of athletic activities, such as cross country, swimming, wrestling, softball, baseball, basketball, and track and field. It has a parent-teacher organization that conducts monthly meeting and organizes various academic events for the overall development of the school. The school has a guidance department that offers counseling program to enhance the personal, social, emotional and academic development of elementary students. South Elementary School is operated by the Danville Community School Corporation that comprises elementary, middle and high schools.
