Established in 1968, Brookwood Elementary School is a part of the Tuscaloosa County School District. It provides classes to students in grades kindergarten through five and has an enrollment of more than 1,000 students. Its syllabus includes a wide range of subjects, such as English, math, social studies, science and foreign languages. The school has a more than 10,000-square-foot activity building that is used for school assembly programs, the parent-teacher association s meetings and physical education classes. It houses a gym, multimedia production room, library media center, health office, conference room and computer lab. It operates various programs, including talented and gifted students programs to recognize special students. The elementary school is located in Brookwood, Ala.
