Before the surgery I needed glasses to drive, read, and an additional pair for very close work. That's three pairs! My vision is now prefect, I won't lie and say it wgas instant, it took a while. The surgery itself was simple painless and very quick! Afterwards I had what can only be described as a thumping headache but I'm notorious for refusing painkillers so that could have something to do with it! I slept mainly the next day as vision was blurry but it gradually came back. Took a while to read properly as my vision was deliberately over corrected in one eye to help lengthen the time before I needed old age reading glasses. Overall it was the best thing I've done!

You can swim, shower, use a sauna, in fact do anything that you want to after 3 months. Freedom is the word I would use. You can also wear designer sunglasses etc which is a plus. Well worth the money if you are in your late 20's or early 30's. Please also note that lazer surgery does not stop age related short sightedness, so you may well need reading glasses in the future, something to remember if you work with a screen or do a lot of close work. Please do review all options including replacement lenses (possible corrections for both long and short sightedness) and/or the various Laser surgery variantions to ensure you chose the right option for you. Dont live with regret. get it done now.

For me the treatment was well worth the initial discomfort and cost. My vision is better than I hoped for. I get slight glare during night driving but otherwise I can see perfectly and I can still see more clearly when driving at night than I could prior to the treatment.

No glasses to get in the way, it made a big difference as i work as a car mechanic my glasses often got broken or scratched, it took a few weeks to get used to but i can read the smallest of print even on tiny fuses etc

Having decided to take the plunge I was a little nervous when I arrived at Excel Laser Vision. The staff were pleasant and efficient and everything was running to time. The treatment was fine once I adjusted to the sounds and the brightness. At one point I thought the surgeon was talking to me and I started to answer him. His assistant told me not to speak in quite an aggressive manner which I thought was unnecessary. Immediately after the surgery I was returned to the large waiting area. I found this rather disconcerting as I had my eyes covered with transparent shields and felt rather vulnerable. Straight away a woman who was about to have surgery started quizzing me about what had happened and how it had been. I didn't really want to speak to anyone at that time, particularly not a complete stranger. To sum up: the treatment was a success and I'm very pleased I had it done. It wasn't painful. I found that after the treatment it was a lot more uncomfortable than I was warned it would be. I was told I wouldn't need the eye drops after but I did need them. So for a few hours after it was very uncomfortable but it did only last two or three hours. The receptionists, consultants and surgeon were all very friendly, nice people and helped me feel less nervous whilst I was there. I'm so glad I had the treatment. Nothing beats waking up in the morning not having to put glasses on or lenses in and being able to see clearly!

All the staff made me feel relaxed and calm, which was important to me. I was kept informed every step of the way at all times. The procedure was all over in about 5 mins, then off to the recovery room. After about 20 mins in there, it was off home. A bit uncomfortable the first night, but got better every day after that. Would recommend this to anyone thinking of having contact lenses.

I'm so glad I had my eyes lasered. I can now see whatever I want without messing around with contact lenses and I have no problems at all. The follow up sessions that were scheduled were also brilliant and ensured that my eyes were going in the right direction. Only downside is I get a bit of eye dryness every now and then...but I put in some eye drops and I'm good as new. I would definitely encourage any of my friends to have it done.

Worth every penny. No more reading glasses or glasses for driving. Distance sight not quite as good as expected but much better than before. But at 66 years old May have expected too much. Changed my life.
