Belle Chasse Middle School, established in 1977, offers educational instruction to students in grades five through eight. The school has an enrollment of more than 700 students and is a part of the Plaquemines Parish School Board. It offers classes in math, social studies, science, keyboarding, art, English, computers and physical education. Located in Belle Chasse, La., the school also provides special educational programs to students with learning and moderate disability and behavior disorders. It offers a variety of extracurricular activities, such as art and beta clubs, dance and drill teams, drama clubs, newspaper and yearbook. The school has athletic teams in baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, football, soccer, softball, track and field and volleyball. Belle Chasse Middle School s colors are red, white and gray and its mascot is the Bulldog. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
