Established in 2002, Belle Chasse Academy is a middle school providing education to children of parents in the armed services in Greater New Orleans. The school s curriculum includes science, history, foreign languages, music, art, and character and physical education. Additionally, it offers various programs, such as Positive Behavior Support Program and National Aeronautics and Space Administration Explorer Schools Program. Under its National Aeronautics and Space Administration Explorer Schools program it provides science, mathematics and technology application courses. Through this program, , students of the academy participate in professional development workshops at one of the ten National Aeronautics and Space Administration field centers. It has cafeterias, and guidance, library and media centers. It also provides nurses and organizes various festivals and events. The school is located in Belle Chasse, La.
