Dr. J.P. Hood has been practicing medicine in a family-friendly environment for over 30 years. His mission has and continues to be to offer excellent health care treatment in a fun, casual environment, focusing on relationships with his patients to help them achieve the best possible health and lifestyle. Dr. Hood is a native Oklahoman. He was born and raised in Lawton, Oklahoma. He graduated from Oklahoma State university earning a degree in Zoology. Dr. Hood taught school and worked in industry for several years. He entered the Oklahoma College Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated in 1985. He finished his post graduate studies at the Dallas/Fort Worth Medical Center in Grand Prairie, Texas. Dr. Hood was a captain in the Army Reserves. Dr. Hood is constantly upgrading his medical credentials, is currently board-certified in Family Medicine and is associated with several medical societies. Dr. Hood has one philosophy in medicine, Treat your patients as you would like to be treated yourself.

Dr. Hood and staff are awesome! I received a thorough exam and the appropriate tests were ordered. A follow up visit was scheduled to discuss the test results and to answer any questions. I feel well taken care of when I need to see Dr. Hood- I live almost an hour away now and refuse to find a new doctor in my area.
I have seen Dr Hood for the last 10 years and I would not trust anyone as much as I trust him. He is willing to sit and listen before advising your next move. He tells you like it is, no sugar coating and I appreciate that. The staff is the office are always so great as well. You will enjoy this office and Dr Hood.

I checked out Dr. Hood before switching from a doctor with whom I was very unhappy in 2014. John Hood has lived up to the good reviews. Since I am a 78-year-old woman, I hope he outlasts me. It is hard to find a good doctor. Having medical knowledge is just the beginning; having “people skills” is important. I have had 3 doctors in my adult life who had both qualities. The first I lost when I moved out of the insurance coverage area. Second one retired. Hood is my 3rd one. I have experienced 2 doctors who disappointed & irritated me. I changed doctors both times.
Always ready to listen and address any ofmy concerns
Answered my questions, discussed my blood test and suggested physical therapist for occasional back relief.
