Jim Pearson Elementary School is a public school, and provides classes to students in grades kindergarten through second. Its academic curriculum offers various subjects, including math, English, science, social studies, reading, writing, spelling and vocabulary, basic skills, special education, physical education and health. The school also has a store that offers school supplies, and a cafeteria that offers a variety of daily lunch menus. It also has a computer laboratory and a library media center, and conducts programs, such as Alabama Reading Initiative and TEAM Math to strengthen the core reading and math programs. The school is operated by the Alexander City School District, and is located in Alexander City, Ala.
