Pennsylvania Life Insurance was founded as an old-line, legal reserve company in 1890. It has grown to become one of the largest carriers of specialty disability insurance for the blue-collar self-employed. PennLife has more than 100 offices throughout the United States, including Zionsville, Ind. The company, which is licensed to do business in 49 states and the District of Columbia, underwrites, markets and services a wide variety of insurance coverage that includes life, accident and health. Each month, PennLife manages more than 2,600 claims and pays more than $4.5 million in benefits.
