We recently served an Upper East Side family. Prior to calling us, they called a large, corporately-owned funeral home that is located in their neighborhood. The director who answered their call quoted a price for a direct cremation of over $8, 000.00. He then explained how their fees reflected the size of their building, the reputation of their business ( we could debate that ), and their large staff. Fortunately, this family thanked the director for his time and they called City Funeral Service. Ask yourself a question: Do you really need a large building, a staff of 30, and a firm that must satisfy the insatiable financial appetite of Wall Street to provide a direct cremation service for you? Most people answer this question with a resounding "no." In times of economic uncertainty, paying $1, 000.00, $3, 000.00, or $7, 000.00 more for a direct cremation service doesn't make sound financial sense. In fact, it's downright irresponsible. Think about it. Don't be intimidated by our address. Yonkers is within 30 minutes from every borough except Staten Island. Our facility is also convenient to Long Island and, naturally, all cities and towns throughout Westchester county. Remember that all of the documents required to authorize and pay for a direct cremation can be forwarded to you via FedEx or Express Mail service.

Last year (summer of '06) City Funeral Service cremated my sister. Since I live outside of NYC, I was clueless as to whom I should call. I inquired about price at 5 fifferent firms and was SHOCKED at the prices they were quoting me (all were in excess of $3,500.00 for a DIRECT cremation service!) I later learned that they were all owned by ONE, HUGE corporation. Then a relative conducted an online search and I was introduced to City Funeral Service. What a difference in price and ATTITUDE! I have only the highest of praise for the staff and management of City Funeral Service. They were attentive, compassionate and kind (and they even sent me a digital photo of my sister.) STOP your search now and call these wonderful, caring people. Also, their web site is easy to understand and it tells you everything you need to know about what they do on the first page of their site. I highly recommend this funeral home to you.

This firm arranged a direct cremation for my brother and everything was handled with superior care. Given the extreme high-cost of funerals today, it's nice to know that there are professionals out there who offer financially-responsible alternatives and personalized attention. VERY nice people to speak to and do business with.
I found this funeral home on the web at NYcremation.com. All of the arrangements were handled by the owner, Peter Frisolone, who took care of every detail. I was extremely satisfied with the cremation services provided by this firm.
