Fort Stevens Elementary School serves students in kindergarten through grade six and is located in Yelm, Wash. The school offers an accelerated reader program, which is a curriculum-based assessment tool that enables teachers to monitor the quantity and quality of reading practices engaged in by the students. Its facilities include more than 30 regular working classrooms, as well as a gymnasium, library, cafeteria and music room. It teaches various academic subjects, such as math, science, computer applications, social studies, art and physical education. Fort Stevens Elementary School operates under Yelm Community Schools, which has an annual enrollment of more than 5,300 students in elementary, middle and high schools.
