I was very upset by the way a friend of mine was treated. She has a disability and has to use a scooter for her mobility. She was shopping in Wal-mart one day and decided to use her coupon for a pedicure at Rose Nails in Yankton, SD. On the coupon it said that walk ins were welcome. When she asked to get her pedicure done, they told her she would have to come back another day. During this time, they were making comments about her and laughing at her, though most of it was in their native tongue. She has trouble with her weight and they were poking fun at that. I feel what they did was discrimination and it hurt my friend horrible. She is a very strong person, and when she told me she broke down and cried. This crushes me. The last time I was there they were making comments in their native tongue about my feet, which have callouses and bunions on them. I had problems with my big toes and they acted like it was nasty to have to work on my feet. I feel she needs an apology and respect!
