From my personal experience visiting his store - whilst I've not used John for upholstery, he was first class in mending a busted Taekwondo belt that the master passed as being good enough to wear (as opposed to purchasing another one that was custom embroidered with my son's name and rank)
The 2nd time i went to him, he fixed my dogs orthopedic bed so i didn't have to go get another one
This time i go i'm asking him to fix a well worn dog leash that has some sentimental value
i'm not suggesting that you use him as i have but i am saying he was kind enough to fix my junk, and do so well so i'm sure he'd be even more careful with the work he does for a living. (and as you can tell i have doggie issues to deal with)
