Our son has done really well here. We love the small classroom sizes and the teachers.
I have had the best experience at this school. I am thrilled with the teaching staff and the director, their approach to teaching and learning is absolutly wonderful and I could not be happier. The care that they have provided for my child has been excellent and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Adoreable & Over the top amazing. I know that leaving our children can be difficult. I also understand that we want to be certain the enviornment is one that they will enjoy & that we know we can be assurred that all safety precautions are in effect. This place is going to have an amazing appeal to you. Three & four year olds are reading & counting. These kids are helping each other & learning life skills. The staff is so offering of thier care and concern for our children that I stay at awe. Love this school. Love the management & know that above all you need to see it for yourself. Please give your priceless child the Holdheide Benefit.
I have a child that goes to this school she is in the crawler room and the teacher there Mrs.Tonya Perez is a great teacher and i have seen alot of inprovment in her since she has been attending this academy and i want to continue letting my child go here because it is a good and safe place to let your child attend. So for all the parents that have young children you should let you child go to Holdheide Academy because you and you child would really enjoy it there.
Before considering this school, visit the Georgia Bright From the Start website and read the latest STATE review of Holdheide. You might be shocked.

i.e., A lGet A Lawyer I have to agree with all of these statements regarding the quality of care and lack of integrity shown by the director. I gave a credit card for the deposit and had it charged every month for tuition on any given day and was finally forced to watch over her as she deleted my information. She sent a number of families to collections for money owed based on dockered invoices for charges clearly entered long after we left as well charges for a notice period that she claimed was not given (despite providing it in writing). I know many families including myself who were forced to secure legal help against this vicious liar. She should be put out of business not only for putting children in harm's way as well as trying to extort money from inncent families. BEWARE ocal favorite, or highly recommended because

If You Want Your Child to be Safe ... It seems pretty obvious from my experience at Holdheide that if your child behaved and was older than 3, then this place is GREAT! Hearing about kids learning spanish and manners and such is all great for that age group and appropriate for a private preschool. I would expect no less from anyplace. Those kids can speak up when they are hurt or neglected or spoken to harshly. If you have a child from 6 weeks to 3yrs, then those children cannot speak for themselves. And, all the spanish and manners and discipline don't mean a hill of beans if these children are being put into rooms for hours unsupervised (and supervision in EVERYONE's opinion means that the adult is IN THE ROOM WITH THE CHILD) or any of the other negative behaviors posted here. Who cares about SACs accreditation for a 2yr old? SACs applies to Preschool and up. And, it is just a piece of paper describing your processes, not the actual practices going on. Sounds like to me if you have a child 4yrs old and up, then sign on up and pray that your child doesn't become a statistic. If you have a child less than 4 years up, find a safe place to go. 55 reviews in 4 years of operation is outrageous for any place. A lot of drama goes with this place.
Holdheide Academy started off with a great concept. My child attended Holdheide for 3 years and for the first 2 for the most part were good. In the last year, however, things have changed drastically and I no longer feel my child is safe attending Holdheide. The owner, Tammy, is no longer some one we can trust and we will be pulling our child and placing them in a better environment. Listed below are some of te reasons we have decided to change schools: * Tammy has spoken to us unsolicited about the behavior of other children and about their parents so I can only assume she does this with other parents as well * Tammy has approached us about posting positive comments about Holdheide * Tammy is not delivering on the claims she makes to you in person or her website regarding the food served or the curriculum * There are not enough teachers due to the majority of them leaving over the past few months or being fired for various reasons (none of which I believe to be valid but since I do
My child has been here for 3 years and we're very happy. My child is barely 4 and she does things Kindergarteners do. I might be biased, but I'm pretty happy that my smart cookie has a place to be that challenges her mind as well as lets her play. I read the bottom review and thought...good grief - WHY would any parent leave a child where they were unhappy after witnessing several horrifing incidents??? I haven't had any horrifying incidents at this school, and believe me, if I did - it would only take one. Go to the school - see if it is right for you. For more information on our experience, visit my blog on wordpress called KidLifeCherokee. There is a section dedicated to education.
I just called this place to ask a few questions about their Pre-k. The lady picked up and I asked her if she had a couple minutes and she told me "No, not really". She giggled sarcastically while she said it like she was trying to be nice about it but she didn't follow that up with an attempt to get my information. She also sounded a bit overwhelmed and frustrated. Definitely don't want to send my kids somewhere like that. And you would think with as much money you pay that place they would be able to afford a receptionist or some extra help. By the way the woman rushed me off the phone sounded like they need it. I thought this was very rude and bad business etiquette. Needless to say I said thanks and hung up. If someone doesn't even have 2 minutes to answer a couple of questions then I definitely don't want to know what else they don't have time for. She was short and rude. This was a very bad first and last impression. I mean seriously, they can afford to be more conscience.

i.e., A local favorite, oLet me start off by saying that I am shocked by the reviews on this site. I know we all have things as parents that we get bent out of shape over, but really these reviews seem obsurd. First and foremost, I am the most uptight and overprotective parent that one has ever met. I began looking at Holdheide Academy (after a friend referred me) when my daughter was 1 year. For the moment I met Tammy, I was very impressed (the owner and director). It was not just her story as to why she opened Holdheide that drew me, but the school as a whole. I had been to every other child care "facility" in Townelake and Woodstock and basically determined that preschool was out of the question for my daugther...UNTIL HOLDHEIDE!! I will admit being the overprotective parent that I am, it did take me over 6 months to finally commit and bring my daughter in full time. I was afraid she would miss her mommy too much. :) From day one Tammy and her teachers worked with ME...they let me make up her schedule as I deemed fit (some days I could only leave her for 2 hours before I came back and picked her up). The teachers reassured me that she was loving school and fitting in great, but you know as a mother you always worry about these little things. My daughter is now full time in the 3 year old classroom & WE LOVE IT!! Hands down the best school around!!! She loves her teachers and comes home with something exciting she has learned daily! THANKS HOLDHEIDE!! Amazing what a team you all have! r highly recommended because

Horrible!!! Do not enroll your child. The owner/director will tell you what you weant to hear and will never deliver, she surely will not tell you that she believes emotional abuse is the best way to teach a child. I have witnessed her yank children out of the classroom and put them in a time out in the baby room, for LONG periods of time in an effort to humilate the child. The teachers are NOT certified and doors are often kept unlocked enabling anyone come in an snatch a child.

The worst experience EVER.....the turnover is high and the disciplinary actions are abusive. My child was emotionally traumatized going there and got hysterical every morning enroute to school. My child is transformed since leaving Holdheide and leaving was the BEST decision!!!

I pulled our child out of Holdheide, and for very good reasons. The punishment there is far to strict for toddlers, the security is lacking - especially the unlocked front doors, and the teacher awareness of students was absolutely terrible. I wondered why they had such a high turnover in teachers.... and students. And I quickly found out. Parents - be careful.

My daughter is a teacher at Holdheide and I am amazed at the curriculum. When she first told me she had a job there I thought a glorified day care center. I was so very wrong. This school is so innovative. They have state of the art equipment and the most dedicated staff I ever seen. The Owner has instilled in the employees the dedication to the learning and the passion for teaching pre-schoolers. I feel they will be far superior to other students when entering the public school system for Kindergarten.
