Chartered in 1936, First Financial Bank is a merger between First Federal Savings Bank and First State Bank of Bibb County. It offers a wide array of banking products, such as checking and savings accounts, loans, commercial lines of credit, mortgages, etc. In addition, the commercial bank provides Internet banking, direct teller, wire transfers, merchant credit card processing and federal tax deposits among others. Based in Bessemer, Ala., First Financial Bank is a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and is an Equal Housing Lender. It is a subsidiary of FirstFed Bancorp Inc., a financial holding company that serves portions of the greater Birmingham metropolitan area and counties to the south and west.
