This PA was more thorough on my first visit with him than my PCP of 12 years. This year, like every year, I got my physical with my now former PCP and was told I was in perfect health. He took one look at me and only sent for blooodwork. He never even listeed to my heart, lungs, or examined my abdomen. I was literally outbid his office I 5 minutes and forgot to tell him about a nagging cough I had for several months. Fast forward 3 months and I got a nasty throat infection with fever. I called my PCP and thankfully he was on vacation. I went on the internet and found Luis Blanco, PA do I wet asking for relief from throat infection. This PA examined every inch of me. I thought he was being too thorough. Upon listening to my lungs and my cough, he had me take a chest X-Ray. I though it was a waste of time but did what I was told. Fast forward 2 months, a cat scan, a pill monologist referral and lung biopsy, I wa diagnosed with a lung carcinoid tumor which had to be immediately removed. The tumor was 2.5 cm big and was most probably with me for years. His thoroughness saved my life. A few months after surgery, I went asking for a PT referral. When he asked for my symptoms, he sent me for a shoulder X-ray and voila! I have a seperated shoulder. This PA listens yo his patients, takes his time to exonerate his patients and makes appropriate referrals. I will NOT be going back to my former PCP!
