Founded in 1967, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, also known as DNR, works to preserve, protect and maintain natural assets. It manages more than 1.5 million acre of hunting and recreational area. The department also builds and maintains boat landings for anglers, as well as issues licenses for hunting and fishing. It implements state and federal government laws to protect wildlife and forest wealth.
