Mid-Atlantic ElderCare, PLLC (MAEC) was created in 2007 due to the increased demand to improve quality of care in Post-Acute Rehabilitation Centers, Nursing Facilities, and Assisted Living Facilities. We cover facilities in Northwest, NC and West/Southwestern, VA. Nursing facilities constantly struggle with obtaining timely physician services for their patients. We eliminated that problem by listening to the needs of the facilities and carrying out a plan to improve quality. We are now expanding up through the Roanoke Valley and into the Shenandoah Valley. MAEC Providers cover facilities 24/7 and answer their calls in a timely manner which eliminates delay in treatment. Yearly continuing medical education in geriatric, medical direction, and rehabilitation keeps them up to date in this ever changing field of medicine. The majority of our physicians have already become Certified Medical Directors through AMDA and the rest are currently working toward obtaining certification. Our Providers do not practice in the office or hospital setting which allows us to give undivided attention to our facilities and the patients within them. We round at each facility from 1 to 5 times per week depending on our case load and the needs of that particular facility.
