- X-rays
- Oral Cancer ScreeningWhile you are at the doctor’s office, in just 3 to 5 minutes, you can receive a comprehensive oral cancer examination. An oral cancer screening such as this should be conducted every year, and is easily incorporated into your routine visits for health check-ups, or cleanings and regular exams at our office. Our office uses the VELscope System which is a hand-held device that provides us with an easy to use mucosal examination system for the early detection of abnormal tissue.
- Teeth Cleaning
- Fluoride TreatmentFluoride is a natural mineral that hardens and protects teeth by neutralizing the acid that causes decay. Dental treatments with fluoride can help prevent tooth decay and even help your teeth rebuild areas of decay in both children and adults. Some adult and adolescent patients with either very sensitive teeth or a large amount of decay can benefit from home fluoride gels and tablets prescribed by the dentist. To find out if you and your family are getting enough fluoride speak to the dentist or hygienist. The use of fluoride along with brushing, flossing, regular dental checkups and a diet low in sugars should result in strong, healthy teeth.
- Dental SealantsChild’s issues can center on decayed baby teeth and preventative dentistry that would include devices such as mouth guards for active life styles that our dentist fitted and changed as the child grows. We also encourage sealant for children’s teeth as a precaution against decay and fluoride preventative measure both at home and on dental visits as well.
- Fillings
- Resin CompositeThis laser helps in curing composite resins. These tooth-colored materials are used in reconstructing chipped teeth, filling cavities in visible areas of the mouth, or sealing teeth to protect them from decay. The dentist paints on the composite, and then focuses a narrow beam of light to harden, or cure, it. The intense light alters the physical properties of the composite, linking its small molecules into longer ones, which adds great strength.
- VeneersVeneers are a thin, semi-translucent laminate permanently bonded to your teeth. While they are not suitable for every patient, veneers are the most aesthetic alternative for a variety of dental conditions involving the front teeth, including...
- CrownsWith old technology, dental crowns always needed to be made with a metal foundation. Today, we can make them out of pure porcelain, ceramic or aesthetic reinforced resins. There are still occasions on the back teeth when the durability of a metal crown makes it the restoration of choice. But for crowns that show, wouldn’t you rather have one that looks as natural as possible?
- Bridges
- Dental BondingDental bonding can correct a tooth gap, can cover spots, chips, and discolorations, can repair fractures, and can re-shape teeth. This is generally used for smaller defects in one or two teeth. Tooth bonding is a “direct” technique in that it is done by the dentist directly on the tooth. This, of course, requires artistic ability on the part of the cosmetic dentist, since the work is done freehand with no outside help. Colors must be matched and blended; the tooth must be sculpted, finished, and polished to a beautiful result. While dental bonding works very well for these small defects in the teeth-chips, spots, and gaps between teeth-it doesn’t work well for large smile makeovers.
- Root Canal TreatmentA root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form. This is usually done as an office procedure.
- Periodontal SurgeryPatients who experience gum disease can be treated with a product available through professional dental offices that will reduce gum inflammation, control bleeding gums, help reduce sensitivity, aid in remineralization and provide protection from tooth decay. (PerioMed) The laser can often be used to treat the problem area which often prevents the need for periodontal surgery.
- Deep CleaningSome gum disease requires that we use a special deep cleaning procedure called scaling and root planning (SRP) to remove plaque buildup and bacteria from infected areas. During this procedure, we may apply an antibiotic. (ARESTIN) This antibiotic helps fight the infection, allowing your gums to heal.
- DenturesIf you’ve lost all your natural teeth, whether from periodontal disease, tooth decay or injury, complete dentures can replace your missing teeth and your smile. Replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health. Without support from the denture, facial muscles sag, making a person look older. You’ll be able to eat and speak—things that people often take for granted until their natural teeth are lost.

- Teeth WhiteningWe can help brighten teeth discolored by age, smoking, cigarettes, even medications. The in-office system consists of three 20-minute sessions, all done at one visit. The entire time in the chair is about two hours. At that time, we also take impressions which we later fabricate into a custom bleaching tray for you to use at home to maintain the shade we are able to achieve in the office. To insure good health and decrease sensitivity that can be caused by the procedure, we request that anyone interested in whitening be on a prescription grade, potassium fluoride toothpaste for 7-10 days.
