It was hideous. The signs on the wall made me feel like I was being bullied. Also, though it was early and almost all the tables were unused, we were seated next to a family with two screaming kids who kept kicking the back of our seat. The "brisket" that I was brought was half fat. We will never go to any Smokey Bones again.

The experience I had at Smokey Bones was mostly forgettable. Although the dining area was very dark, the service was solid, and we were seated quickly at a booth. Our waitress was genuinely courteous and very obliging. The appetizer was the best part of the meal in my opinion, even though there were no onion rings on the starters menu, I asked for them and they brought them back out in good time. You could tell these onion rings were specially cooked for us, the onion itself was so fresh and crisp, it was as if the chef literally just cut and fried the onion moments before it was brought to the table. From this point there were a couple of awkward turns that took place. My girlfriend seemed to be satisfied with her ginormous burger and I was content with my brisket, all in all the meal was going fine. Then the waitress came out and asked how we liked the food. We gave a cordial response to which she replied that the brisket at Famous Daves was far better than the one here. I was shocked at what she just said because who vouches for a competitor/ had she known this brisket was not of the best quality, why not refer me to another item on the menu. Everything up to this point was fine and the bill was surprisingly low. Id have liked to give this place four stars but this last bit of conversation with the waitress soured my experience. I will go back again and wouldnt mind having the same waitress, as long as my cravings dont find me wanting of the brisket. p.s. the bar-b-que sauce was superb
