I thought Ikea was the 'go-to' place for home items... maybe for a dorm. And only if you don't need customer service.

furniture for the entire house, huge showroom and creative solutions. presentations are very well done in the store to help give you ideas. quality of the materials, however, is sub-par. Most of the woods are particle board and do not stand up to long years of use. Majority of their stuff is best suited for temporary use such as college or rental decoration/furnishing. but, it is very inexpensive and the stuff looks more expensive than it actually is. it's fun to go and shop, showroom has a good flow to get you from room to room. restaurant inside if you need a break. also carries kitchen supplies for cooking, decorations, eating, and children's furniture too.

Today I had by far the worst experience trying to get a table from this store. An IKEA store employee stated I could order a certain table online only to drive an hour home and discover the table could not be ordered online. I then call customer service to see if I could call this store but I was told it was not their job to check the stock inventory to see if the table was actually at the store. I was also told they could do nothing for me and said I should just drive back down in a few days to check at the store again - another 100 mile roundtrip. I am very upset with how my matter was handled and with the attitude the IKEA rep spoke to me with. It will be a long long time before I step foot into one of these stores again.
