The Wood River Fire Department has been providing emergency and nonemergency services since 1908. The department is responsible for fire prevention and protection and disaster planning services. It has a staff of trained and certified professional, including a chief, captains, engineers, operators and firefighters. The Wood River Fire Department is equipped with a range of foam and rescue pumpers and trucks. The department conducts fire prevention inspection programs and offers smoke detector installation services. The Wood River Fire Department also operates several fire stations. The department additionally organizes cardiopulmonary resuscitation classes. The Wood River Fire Department is located in Wood River, Ill.
