Hospice Care is a nonprofit organization located in Stoneham, Mass. The organization provides hospice and in-home care services for terminally ill patients. Its services include medication monitoring, pain and symptom management, skilled nursing care, palliative care, pastoral care and spiritual counseling, speech, occupational and physical therapies, short-term inpatient support. The organization also provides medication supervision to patients, and bereavement counseling for family members and caregivers. Its staff comprises medical directors, social workers, home health aides, nurses with special training in palliative care, a chaplain and various other volunteers. The organization accepts insurance plans of Medicare, Medicaid and other private insurance companies. Hospice Care is approved by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and is affiliated with the Visiting Nurses Association of Boston.
