The noodles that they prepare right in here are amazing, thick and very tasty, there are several flavors to choose from and I havent tried the beef one, I will go this week and I will order that.

I have been to other Japanese steakhouses before and was skeptical about dining at this one after reading some negative reviews. However, my dining experience was perfectly fine. The restaurant was not very big compared to others and was not full at the time I visited, a Sunday evening. The decor was not all that Japanese like and the restaurant is in a plaza. Nevertheless, the most important aspect to me was the food. The chef was fantastic! He had new jokes I hadn't seen before, and I thought I had seen them all. The food was delicious! The price was less expensive than at other Japanese restaurants I've been too. The service was adequate, I had no problem except for a mixed up drink. With all this said, I will most likely return.

I've been to both Kobe's and Ginza so perhaps my expectations were a little too high, however Yabi came nowhere close to the standard that either of these had set. The little things aside (difficult to communicate with the waitress, appetizers not nearly as outstanding) the food was, overall, undercooked. The rice was hard, the veggies were hard, and more importantly my boyfriends fish was a rich, healthy, just plucked out of the water pink the entire way through. When this was expressed to the chef he threw it back on the grill, added more sauce (sending it into sauce overload) and threw it back on his plate. No new fork or plate were even offered. Unless their goal is the kill their customers Yabi Japanese Steakhouse, in my opinion, failed miserably as a restaurant.



Their food is no more inexpensive than Kobes or Ginza, and even though the location is a tad more convenient, I'd rather drive farther for quality food than be stuck with a mediocre meal that I can't finish.
