- Nutritional CounselingWe provide nutritional counseling for a variety of disease processes as well as foods to keep your pet in optimal health. - Comprehensive Examination
- Parasites Treatment and ControlWe require heartworm tests on a yearly basis and also if your dog has missed any prevention. If a dog is positive for heartworms and given prevention it may cause severe anaphylactic shock. Heartworm prevention is highly effective but dogs can still become infected. If you miss just one dose of a monthly medication—or give it late—it can leave your dog unprotected. Even if you give the medication as recommended, your dog may spit out or vomit a heartworm pill.
- Anal Gland Infection TreatmentAnal glands are located on either side of the anal area. Generally if your pet has an issue with their anal glands, you will notice your pet scooting or licking the area. Dogs are more prone to anal gland problems than are cats. While your dog's glands can be expressed at home, most people prefer to have it done with their veterinarian or groomer. The fluid that is expressed is very foul and we prefer to express anal glands internally. Lauren, our groomer also expresses anal glands during a bath but only uses the external procedure. If your dog continually has issues, it is best to have them done internally by a technician.
- Heart Disease TreatmentHeartworms are actual worms that live in your dog's heart and can cause severe heart disease in your dog. Heartworms are transmitted when the mosquito bites your pet and the heartworm larvae are injected into your pet, then carried to the heart via the bloodstream. Any dog is susceptible to being bitten at any given time even if they live indoors. There can be one worm to hundreds of worms living in the heart of a positive dog.
