Republic Mortgage Insurance Company, also known as RMIC, protects lenders throughout the United States from losses due to defaults on first mortgages for single-family residential properties. Since its beginning in 1973, RMIC has provided mortgage insurance services. RMIC has more than 2,000 active customers and is a subsidiary of Old Republic International, a NYSE-traded, diversified specialty insurer with a financial track record and management team. ORI's financial support and counsel has contributed to RMIC's achievement and maintenance of financial strength ratings of AA by Standard & Poor's, Aa3 by Moody's and AA by Fitch. Republic Mortgage Insurance Company has branch located in Winston Salem, N.C., where it employs nearly 300 people.
