Clean store, caring owners, very professional. I drove 3 hours to adopt one of their birds. Jackie (owner) is very loving and caring about her birds and very knowledgeable about the birds. Wonderful place! The owners are extremely knowledgeable! They welcome your input and have an amazing variety of products for birds, dogs, cats, small animals and exotics! Hedgehogs, chinchillas, ferrets, you name it, they have it! Their birds are amazingly healthy and such fun to visit!

This is an AMAZING pet store! The owners retain more knowledge about what to feed, how to care for and what's going on with any type of pet you can imagine! Everything is so well cared for! It is refreshing to have a PET store that cares about the animals and not the All Mighty Dollar enough that they would refuse to sell a pet especially if they felt it would not be beneficial to the pet???? Maw & Paw's s a wonderful place! I cannot believe someone would berate this store and the owners with any negatives unless they were denied ownership of a pet or if they were another shop owner whose business is hurting! The store is the CLEANEST store I've ever been in, the owners, Jackie & Rob, know their birds and if you walk in with yours, they know yours' too! They know the Federal Regulations/State Regulations regarding all of their animals. I love Jackie's saying..."You don't pick the bird, the BIRD picks YOU", so just because it's beautiful, doesn't mean it should go home with you. Also, they allow visits with all their animals within reason. If you're under 12, you need a parent with you for your protection as much as the animals. The animals are their first priority. They have their legal minds on when protecting their animals and you the customer. So I say BRAVO Maw & Paw, keep up the excellent work! I'll be a customer for a long time! Shadow's Mom

All I can say is UNBELIEVABLE!! This is the only pet store I have seen that takes the time with their customers as well as pampers all of their animals. They have a lot of their personal pets there, but treat all of the animals as if they were their personal pets. It's amazing to me how for some people it's all about THEM and NOT the animals. That is SO NOT the case with Maw & Paw's. So whoever wrote that garbage (very petty person) more than likely got their feelings hurt because THEY didn't get what they wanted or perhaps it was another pet store (will remain unnamed) that is feeling the pressure of having a exemplary pet store setting the standard. I tell everyone how awesome Maw & Paw's pet store is. I mean come on, all you have to do is visit one time and you're hooked. I wish they would open up more of them so I could have a Maw & Paw's where I live out in High Point.

it occured to me that if someone who didn't know or understand the nature of this store, and of birds, walked in, they might see what looks like ill animals. That can be the case, maw and paws selflessly takes in many abandoned, abused and neglected birds. They rehab them, socialize them, and try to find new homes for them, or even just keep them. This means, the birds will be in various stages of recovery when they are viewed. There is however, no need to speculate about them being not cared for in the store. Instead of slandering them on the internet, next time, ask about that animals story, and why they are bald, or what have you. If you ask respectfully(this means BEFORE you (or your child) is shoving hands and fingers in the cage), you will get an answer. ANY respectable petstore will ask you to refrain from harassing the animals. Any intelligent human will read a clearly posted sign saying just that......

Maw and Paw's Pets is a fantastic pet store and their owners are also great! I have been shopping their for about 6 months now and won't go anywhere else. What makes Maw and Paws so unique is the fact that the owners CARE about the animals they sell and want them to go to good homes. They educate before selling an animal and that may seem rude to someone who just wants that pet "now". I hope Maw and Paw's is around for years to come! Maw and Paw's is a wonderful pet store for people who love and understand exotic pets. I visited there with my adult son recently and was impressed with the variety of animals available and the care they are given. The store owners are extremely knowledgeable about the animals and very careful about who they let handle them, both to protect the animals as well as the inexperienced customer.

Maw & Paw's Pets is one of the best pet stores in the area. This is one of the few locations that sells high quality foods. The people that work there are amazing. They are very informative and love their animals. They will also refuse to sell animals to people they don't feel would be able to properly care for the animals.

Sometimes, when a persons pride is hurt(as in being told that they aren't prepared to own the pet they want, or that they need to be more aware of their child)they say untrue things to make themselves feel better. I choose to shop here BECAUSE i see that the owners care about the animals they sell MORE than they care about the "feelings" of people. At the end of the day, that is more important. A person can choose to think rationally about their ability to properly care for and feed an animal, the animal is at the mercy of that person. This store carries many animals. They are also the only petstore that i know of that can tell you each animals name, and personality. I like getting a real answer, and not "oh, they are shipped to us from some mass animal breeding facility in Florida". Their animals are well provided for, getting fresh and homecooked foods daily, as well as personal playtime. I would highly recommend this store to those who want a healthy animal.

Not enough room for the reply i have. This is by far the cleanest store in the state. Animals are cared for better than most can imagine. If you can't teach your kids not to shake cages and stick fingers in cages you do not need to be in a pet store these animals are very loved and yes you will be asked to sanitize your hands and watch your children they will gladly assist you if you child would like to hold an animal. If in their heart they feel you cannot provide a suitable home they will not sell that animal to you. That is their right as a responsible adult. I will keep sending customers and friends to them they are the best. My animals from there are healthy and thriving. And as far as rude i would love to hear that story. Also if there is an issue as for federal mumbo jumbo you need to be adult enough to talk to them about what it is they have the permits and are in accordance. As to shutting down i think not if i win the lottery i will get them a huge store paid off. Jodi Young

The friendliest,healthiest,cleanest,funniest, pet store i have ever been to!!Animals are in clean cages.alot of the birds are outside of the cages and put on shows for your entertainment.After sanitizing your hands to protect you transmitting anything to the animals and visa-versa,alot of times you can handle the animals,but only if jackie see's that you can be responsible.She monitors all handling.The fish tanks are crystal clean and exotics are all friendly.All birds are raised and handled and loved like their own kids as to make the best possible pets for you to have.I have never seen any pet store owners with the compassion for these animals than maw and paw.When you buy from this store, you are getting animals that are so loved before you get to love them,that i have seen jackie(owner) get so teary eyed like she was giving up one of her human kids.She has a real feel about good animal lovers and will not sell to you just to make a sale.I dare you to find a better pet store.!!!!

I just love Maw and Paw's Pets. I walked into the shop one day, because I didn't know that it was there. The owners asked me if I needed anything, and showed me some of the pets that they had. The coolest thing is that they actually let you hold the animals. They all carry around sanitizer to make sure that their animals do not get sick. You can really tell that these owners care about their animals. They had a Scarlet Macaw that they didn't want anyone to hold because he was aggressive. He was apparently a rescued bird. I wont go to another Big Chain pet store again, they help me find all the products that I need. If they do not have exactly what I want, they find it and get it in for no extra charge. They are great. I have told my friends about them and they drive all the way from Greensboro to go to Maw and Paws. Now that says something. Great shop, friendly people, and great animals!

I KNOW THIS STORE AND WOULD HAVE TO STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH THE NEGATIVE review ON HERE. I STOP IN THERE WEEKLY AND HAVE NEVER SEEN A SICK, UNHEALTHY ANIMAL IN THERE. NOR HAVE I SEEN THE CAGES NASTY AND OVER CROWDED. NOR HAVE I SEEN ANY ILLEGAL ANIMAL. NOR DO THEY ALLOW PETS IN THERE, SAYS RIGHT ON THE DARN FRONT DOOR-NO PETS ALLOWED! THEY HAVE A LICEINCE TO SELL THE ANIMALS THEY DO SELL RIGHT THERE ON THE WALL. I WOULDN'T BUY A BIRD, FERRET, GUINEA PIG, ECT. FROM ANY OTHER STORE. I KNOW BUYING FROM THEM IT'S BEEN CARED FOR VERY WELL, VET EXAMINED AND MOST IMPORTNAT LOVED FOR, NOT NEGLECTED LIKE MANY MANY OF THE PET STORES. I'VE TALKED WITH THE OWNERS SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY ARE WONDERFUL, VERY EDUCATED PEOPLE ON THEIR PETS ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP OUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. SO YES-I GIVE THEM A 5 STAR REVEIW BECAUSE THEY DESERVE IT AND I KNOW THIS FIRST HAND.

Maw & Paw's Pets was a wonderful place to shop for my pet supplies. I was welcomed as soon as I came through the door. The owners helped me with all of my questions about my pet, food, toys, excersize, and was even knowledgable about the type of pets typical health concerns and how to prevent them. While I was in the store, I just feel in love with the birds. Jackie, a.k.a. Maw, showed her birds with pride. While I was in there, I noticed how many services she provided for her customers, such as clipping the birds wings, and trimming the dogs nails. She only offers the best of food, including all organic, or even the 6 star dog foods along with informtaion on it all. Both owners were very knowledgable about recalls from other foods as well as current events. The fact that they had such a large variety of products with one on one customer service really impressed me! I am and will be a Maw & Paws customer for now on! Keep Up the good Work!

I highly recommend this store for pet lovers. The animals are treated well and are housed in fine conditions. I have purchased birds and am totally satisfied. The owners are knowledgeable and are willing to answer questions . I have always felt welcome even if I just wanted to browse and talk to the birds.

WOW!!! I could not believe the negative review someone wrote here. I have been to that store countless times since the day it opened and let me say they are one of the nicest, cleanest stores around in this area. I have bought animals from them before and they were very healthy, well takin care of and socialized already from the owners of the store. The owners are very experienced with all the animals they have and are certainly NOT in it for the money. They are in it for the love of them which is very obvious to anyone who spends 10 minutes in that store talking with them. They carry some of the best foods you can get because they care about good nutrition for animals. Heck she takes many of them home nightly and their spoiled rotten. So it's very apparent to me it's not a GREED thing here. They've put alot of love, hard work and devotion into that store and every single animal in it. It's a dam shame for someone to come along and just slam it all with false info and LIES!
