  Once you have been checked in, you’ll be escorted to your treatment room where you’ll get to meet your dentist. After spending a few minutes chatting with you about your dental history and smile goals, they’ll perform a comprehensive oral exam. This will be followed by a consultation where they’ll share their observations with you and make treatment recommendations. When all of your questions have been answered, we’ll escort you back to the front desk to schedule your next appointment.

• Oral Cancer Screening
  Your initial visit could take up to two hours, but checkups and cleanings generally last about an hour. At your checkup, Dr. Smith or Dr. Yap will examine each of your teeth as they look for new problems or faulty dental work. An oral cancer screening, periodontal assessment, and bite analysis, combined with digital X-rays, will give the dentists a comprehensive view of your oral health.

Preventive

• Teeth Cleaning
  Following the placement of your dental crown or fixed bridge, you should continue your regular oral hygiene routine. Use soft toothbrushes and minimally abrasive toothpaste to avoid excessive wear during your twice daily tooth brushing. You may want to switch to using a waxed floss in order to avoid snagging on the edges of your dental crown or bridge. During six month dental exams and teeth cleanings, we’ll examine your restoration for signs of wear or damage and work with you to keep the crown or bridge in place.
• Fluoride Treatment
  Fluoride is a mineral that provides a natural-remedy to tooth decay, which is why it’s often added to toothpaste, mouthwash, and even public water sources. To give you some extra protection against cavities, we can coat your teeth with a highly-concentrated fluoride varnish as part of your regular checkups. It only takes a minute, but it can literally help repair any minor areas of damage to stop cavities dead in their tracks!

Restorative

• Fillings
  After making sure that you're comfortable with local anesthesia or nitrous oxide, your dentist will gently remove the decay from your tooth. A small dab of liquid composite resin, tinted to match your tooth's color, will be placed into the cavity and hardened with a curing light. The dentist will shape the filling to fit well with your bite, and then polish it for a beautiful finish. Dr. Smith or Dr. Yap can also replace your dark amalgam fillings with composite resin for an all-white, gorgeous smile that's strong, healthy, and durable.
• Resin Composite
  If you come to see us with a small cavity, we won’t fix it by placing an unnatural-looking gray filling into your smile. Instead, we’ll use a color-matched composite resin to quickly and conservatively replace any decayed enamel. Tooth-colored fillings are designed to practically disappear within the mouth, and because they are metal-free, they don’t make a patient more sensitive to hot and cold temperatures. They also enable our team to preserve more of a tooth while repairing it, creating something that both looks great and can be trusted to last.
• Veneers
  Like all veneers, these are coverings designed to improve the appearance of the hidden surface underneath. They are made of fine dental porcelain, and each one is individually crafted to fit a specific tooth.
