Jason Bussell PhD, L.Ac earned his BA with Honors from DePaul University. After working in psychiatric hospitals for several years, Jason returned to school to study Pre-Med at Loyola University. Then he changed gears and entered Oriental Medical School. After earning his Master's of Science in Oriental Medicine with honors, Jason opened a private practice with his wife in Wilmette, IL. Here they have helped tens of thousands of patients with all sorts of disorders. Dr. Bussell was elected by his peers to be the President of the Illinois Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine- a position he held for three terms before he had to relinquish it because he had been appointed by the state government to serve on their Acupuncture Advisory Board. He has since been named Vice-Chairman of that board. Dr. Bussell is a published author. He has written articles for Eastern and Western medical publications, and his book, "The Asian Diet: Simple secrets for eating right, losing weight, and being well" was published in 2009. Jason has been interviewed on local, national, and internationally-syndicated radio shows and has presented at International Medical Conferences. He lectures regularly to medical doctors and students, allied health professionals, and the general public. In 2009, Dr. Bussell was honored to be one of the first American accepted into PhD study in Acupuncture at the prestigious Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. In 2012, Jason because the first American to receive this internationally-recognized doctorate. Dr. Bussell specializes in oncology support, orthopedics, and pediatrics. But he also enjoys treating other disorders as well. With his background in psychology, he also works a lot with psycho-emotional disorders very well. In Dr. Bussell's dissertation research, he developed a technique that has been clinically proven to improve memory, test-taking, and reduce anxiety.
