Transporter, Inc is based in Houston, TX and provides local and over-the-road container drayage throughout the continental United States. The company, incorporated in April 1988, currently leases 140 exclusive owner-operator trucks and employs 35 people in our Houston and Dallas offices. We are within easy access to the Port of Houston terminals, and all local rail facilities ; and we provide continuous drayage service into and out of Barbours Cut Terminal in LaPorte, TX. All our trucks are either radio or cell phone dispatched and maintain constant contact with our dispatchers 24 hours a day. In early 1991, we opened out Laredo terminal, which is conveniently located near both the new and old bridges into Mexico. All of our Laredo employees are bilingual and available to assist in communication as necessary. Our latest expansion is in Dallas, TX. We commenced operations in August, 2000 and now offer local and over-the-road trucking out of the Dallas area rail ramps. We feel we are uniquely qualified to offer container drayage services ; our steady growth speaks volumes in that regard. We also offer many value added services to our customers: we are a U.S. Customs bonded carrier and a permitted alcohol carrier for Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Our drivers are all certified to carry hazardous loads, and we have a progressive safety program. Our current customer base includes Shippers, Importers, Custom House brokers, Freight Forwarders and Steamship Lines.
