- UltrasoundI employ a very eclectic combination of Non-Manipulative Manual Therapies, Biomechanics, and Cranio-Sacral Therapy. In addition, I use extensive stabilization strategies to ensure that your problem does not recur. I do not waste your time and money with hot pacs or ultrasound.
- MRI“I attended your lumbar-pelvic course last year and I feel like I should send you a thank you card every time I use your techniques. They are so easy to perform for the patient and myself and they work! I had a patient that I started working with last week that had sciatica pain and was walking a with a limp. The 1st thing he said to me is “I’m only doing PT so my insurance will approve my MRI.” We started with the normal low back ROM exercises, stretching and core strengthening as the PT had ordered. I then had him get on the table and went through the process of checking alignment and found that he had a right up slip. I made the necessary corrections. The guy sits up and looks me straight in the eye says “ what kind of voodoo did you just do?” His foot no longer had pins and needles and he only had mild tenderness in his buttocks. He came in the next treatment and only needed a mild correction and called his doctor to say he wanted to cancel the MRI. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the physical therapy world!”

- Hip ReplacementTom: I think of you often. The two exercises you gave me in September 2013 are still making a difference. The lying down one where I placed my left ankle on my right knee and then made a bridge emphasizing the right hip and the pushing back the left shoulder have been particularly important. They have had the effect I was hoping they would have: They have opened up the rest of my body. I am basically pain free at this point without the benefit of a hip replacement. Also I have gained a lot of strength in my left leg, and I believe there has even been some improvement in my range of motion in my left hip... Your exercises have been the gift that keeps on giving. Thank you so much.
- EczemaIf desired, plant extracted essential oils which are virtually the “blood of the plant” are used in conjunction with high quality massage oils, lotions and cremes. Essential oils are known to contain the highest concentrations of naturally occurring ozone, oxygen and have many beneficial properties to increase vitality and health. For example, lavender oil has been shown to help reduce anxiety, depression, or be useful in treating athlete’s foot or eczema. Peppermint is often used for headaches, colds and flu or nausea. Birch and eucalyptus oils are useful for muscular aches and pains, rheumatism, and arthritis.
- LesionsAll professions who manipulate should be aware of these conditions, yet every year I see people in my clinic who have had manipulations and also have these defects. If present, they are a complete contra-indication to manipulations. This is taught on day one in schools of manipulation. That is why you are always (or at least should be) X-rayed prior to manipulative treatment. Note: they tell you they are X-raying you to check for alignment but this is a big fat lie. They are REALLY X-raying you to see if you have a pre-existing defect that would be disastrous if manipulated. If the X-ray shows either of the lesions, then no manipulations should be given. Why? Because the manipulation can break your back or cause severe damage to the spinal chord. Also, if a bulging or herniated disc is present or strongly suspected, manipulations are again contra-indicated as they will likely worsen the bulge and or herniate the disk.
